The Princess Island tour (Kızıl Adalar or just Adalar) are a chain of nine rather small islands in the Sea of Marmara. They evolved from a place of exile during the Byzantine era, to a popular destination for tourists and Istanbulites alike to escape the hectic city life for a day. Of those nine islands, only four of them are open to the public: Büyükada, the biggest and most popular, BurgazadaHeybeliada and Kınalıada.

Day 1Istanbul to the Prince Islands

The transfer will pick you up at 8:30 a.m from your hotel and will drive you to the harbor. The Prince Islands archipelago consists of 9 different sized islands. The biggest and the most enjoyable island is Buyukada. Cars are not permitted here, and all transport here are provided by horse-drawn сarriages, bicycles and electric bikes. On the Island, there are many magnificent 19th Century wooden mansions with overhanging balconies. Nowadays, the apartments are mostly used as summer homes. You will take a ferry from Istanbul to the Islands. When you arrive, you will enjoy a one hour horse-drawn carriage (phaeton) tour around the island. Lunch will be provided at a fish restaurant with a perfect view of the Asian side of Istanbul. After lunch, you will have a couple of hours of free time to walk around and explore the picturesque landscape and many historic churches and monasteries on the island. Around 07:00 p.m, you will take the ferry back to Istanbul and then you will be transferred by bus to your hotel.
